The late Heath Ledger was an incredible actor, as his final Oscar-winning performance as the Joker showed. The Australian heartthrob had a lot more in his arsenal than just brooding criminals, though. For proof, watch his starring role in Casanova. It’s hard to do a man like Giacomo Casanova justice. He’d been almost everything – preacher, professional gambler, violinist, spy, and even librarian. His exploits probably couldn’t be accurately depicted in a movie that isn’t X-rated, but this one certainly tries, portraying Casanova’s battles with the Inquisition. Also, the true-to-life sets and costumes are worth the price of admission alone.
