[post_page_title]Titanic (1997)[/post_page_title]
Okay, obviously Jack and Rose were fictional, and aren’t based on any historical figures. But as far as historical accuracy goes, that’s just the tip of the iceberg (sorry). First, some minor characters ARE based on real people. For example, there’s the Titanic’s chief designer Thomas Andrews, played by Victor Garber, whose demise the movie accurately portrays. But let’s talk about the real star – the ship itself. Rooms, hallways, and decks were all exact replicas of the real RMS Titanic. Even the firm that created the ship’s original carpet in 1912 was brought back for the movie!
