Back in the not so good ol’ 1970’s, there was a huge divide among the black and the white members of society. Whereas most African Americans are expected to love hip-hop, basketball, and other “black” things, ice hockey was never one of them. That’s why director and producer Damon Kwame Mason made Soul on Ice. He wanted to share that you don’t need to be white to love ice hockey. There are lots of other men with darker skin tones finally getting a name in this honorable sport.
