If poetic legends and stories are the closest we can get to history before historians, then you absolutely need to take a look at Hero. This Chinese movie depicts the failed assassination attempt of the first Emperor of China, as told by a nameless person who wants to win over the Emperor’s favor. While we’re willing to admit that it’s not perfect in terms of effects, this is a really solid and accurate film for you history lovers out there. It’s definitely worth watching at least once.
