One of our favorite characters in Blazing Saddles has always been the Waco Kid, and we all know that this character was played by the legendary Gene Wilder. Yet, that wasn’t always the case.
The role was originally given to Gig Young – but he was fired after just one day. Young was axed after it was discovered that he didn’t need to act to play his intoxicated character. Gene Wilder eventually took over the role, but Young wasn’t happy. He even sued Warner Bros for giving him the chop.
