[post_page_title]Striking a deal[/post_page_title]
Gene Wilder and Mel Brooks were one helluva pair, and the two actors worked tirelessly over the 1970s to produce and star in epic new movies.
The pair first associated with each other on The Producers, before Brooks asked him to return to his movie set and take on a role in Blazing Saddles. Gene agreed to work for him once more, but only on the condition that Mel would help him produce a movie he had written himself. This deal ultimately paid off, as Young Frankenstein became a box office hit.
