According to Mel Brooks, Blazing Saddles has taken the record as the first ever movie to include a few extra sound effects. Specifically, bottom burps!
These little added extras came to life when the group of cowboys were eating a can of beans and sitting around a campfire. After much research, Mel Brooks knew that this was a common pastime for cowboys back in the American West – so why didn’t the movies show the effects of these beans? He decided to start off the trend himself because of this.
