Since its release, fans from across the world have reached out to Mel with their congratulations and their appreciation for Blazing Saddles. Yet, it seems the response from one famous fan has bowled him over more than any other.
After learning that the filmmaking legend, Alfred Hitchcock, had watched his movie, Brooks was keen to receive any feedback. Amazingly, Hitchcock loved it! He noted that their style of producing was different, but that he thoroughly enjoyed the story and the production. What a compliment!
