As soon as Mel Brooks had a final cut ready for the heads of Warner Bros, he took his film over and set up a screening. Unfortunately, the head of distribution didn’t think the movie held a place within their ranks.
He believed it to be “too vulgar” for the people of America and didn’t believe it would make them any money. Yet, as the film made its way to president of the studio, he had a bit more faith in Brooks’ work. So, he gave it a shot.
