Regardless of the answer to that question, one thing’s for sure – neither young woman asked for this sudden bout of celebrity. While Hilary was already married to a famous baseball player, and was consequently something of a public figure in Mexico, Emma was a complete unknown.
She didn’t try to create a “viral” moment, and she neither asked for nor craved the attention she was getting – most of it negative, naturally. They had both made mistakes, sure, but we can’t help but wonder whether they didn’t deserve to go back to anonymity.
