Although Randy does not arrive on the scene until season four, when he does finally appear he makes a lasting impression on Caroline. The two had grown up together in Wisconsin but lost contact after moving away, after which he became a pediatrician. He connects to Caroline again after buying her parents’ house and meeting her when he goes to New York City for a seminar. At the time, Caroline is with Richard, but she falls for Randy, with their wedding taking place in the last episode.
