However, Grace didn’t know he was an alien – and not just any alien, but one with two separate hearts. Her attempts to bring him back backfired as Grace, in fact, ended up forcing him to regenerate. It was then that Grace became the new companion to The Eighth Doctor. The relationship soon escalated which brought major controversy; no one had ever dated a doctor until now.
