For those of you who don’t know, Argo is true story about a CIA agent named Tony Mendez who rescues a group of six Americans who are being held hostage in Iran, while pretending to film a movie. The movie, however, downplays certain contributions that were given from Canada.
Apparently Canadian ambassadors made their work a lot easier than it seemed in the film, most notably the airport scene in which they struggle with the authorities. Indeed, the Canadians provided them with visas and made their process pretty smooth.

Pretty much one of the most classic musical films of all time, it is also based on the real Von Trapp family, who were all singers. In fact, they were known to be one of the world’s most famous singing groups in the time after World War II.
That said, the movie made Captain Von Trapp to be more militaristic than he was in real life; it turns out that he was actually a pretty awesome dad. In addition, their big escape was over railroad tracks – not in the Alps.
