Fire ants are part of the same family as red ants and stinging ants, and you may have come into contact with them at some point in your life. These ants form colonies around the world, no matter the landscape, and are incredibly protective of their wellbeing. If they feel threatened in any way, shape or form, they will sting. A fire ant sting is incredibly painful and will cause red, pus-filled lesions that can prove fatal if the person is allergic to the toxins. After a while, the bites will heal themselves.
