For those who weren’t around at the time, or just weren’t interested, it’s hard to articulate just how much of a big deal Beverly Hills, 90210 was. The teen drama, which premiered in 1990, made its young cast world famous – or infamous, in the case of Shannen Doherty, who played Brenda Walsh. Unlike her twin brother Brandon, Brenda is portrayed as judgy and shrewish. Doherty’s well-documented behavior of allegedly being terrible to everyone on-set didn’t help, either. There was even an actual Brenda anti-fan club, which put out newsletters, T-shirts, and bumper stickers that said, “I Hate Brenda.”
