There seems to be a trend with a lot of characters that fans seem to really despise. A lot of them are actually very talented, but they all have the ability to get on everyone’s nerves. Mandy from the West Wing was no different: she was argumentative – which on the West Wing is normally an asset, though with Mandy’s lack of charisma it failed to endear her to viewers – and overall just an uninteresting character. Screenwriter Aaron Sorkin in particular thought as much, and as a result she was written off the show, without offering an explanation as to her disappearance.
