A little Frasier, it turned out, went a long way. While he was fine, even appreciated, in the small doses we got on Cheers, when he embarked on his own sitcom we started having second thoughts. It’s startling to considering that Cheers ran for 11 seasons – exactly the same number as its spinoff, Frasier, got. And Cheers had a whole bunch of characters, from Sam to Carla, Norm to Cliff. Frasier had, well, Frasier – and his equally annoying family. But honestly, Dr. Crane was self-centered, obnoxious, pompous, AND a womanizer to boot. Who’d take advice from this guy?
