Unfortunately, things soon went from bad to worse for Diana over the course of the next few days. On Wednesday, August 27, a story was published in a French newspaper that would turn her life upside down. Le Monde published an interview with Diana that supposedly created false claims made by the former Princess about the politics of her country. Diana was furious and vehemently denied saying any of the claims made in the interview, but the damage had been done. The subsequent media storm resulted in even more paparazzi around the yacht.
