As the media hounded her every move, Diana just didn’t know how to cope with it all. What she did know was that she couldn’t face going back to England to face the wrath of Kensington Palace and the Royal Family. So, she made a decision. She picked up the phone in the cabin and called Kensington Palace herself. During this phone call, she confirmed that she would not be returning home on the date that she had previously told them. Instead, she would be staying on the yacht for a few more days.
