It may seem like these animals would be ferocious, and it turns out that scientist believe that they mostly fought against each other. They’ve compared this to the way that male deer will fight with others in order to show dominance and to settle disputes.
They had the means to fight off predators, but researchers predict that they mostly had issues with each other, not different species. Though the glyptodon probably would be able to hunt other animals, they were actually herbivores and ate mostly grass and trees.
