By the time the press caught up with the McCaughey children again a couple years later the septuplets were getting along just like any other teenagers in the United States. Some were taking driving lessons and saving up for cars and some were going out on dates and in relationships. Despite all of the ups and downs, and despite all of the struggles, the McCaugheys always made sure to appear to be the quintessential American family in their interviews.
