In addition to being a huge movie star, Paul Newman was also a close friend of Jake Gyllenhaal’s family and reportedly taught him how not to drive.
The story goes that when Gyllenhaal was just 15 years old, Newman, who loved car racing, took him out to the racetrack. Young Jake climbed into the passenger seat and Newman took him for a hair raising spin, too close to a wall for comfort. The lesson? “This was what you won’t do.”
