[post_page_title]The shortest baseball player[/post_page_title]
Back in 1951, Major League Baseball saw the first little person pick up a bat as Eddie Gaedel took to the base. The player stood at 3-foot-7-inches tall, but sadly wasn’t going to become a permanent feature of the team.
In fact, Eddie was signed on as a publicity stunt for the St. Louis Browns and had his contract voided just one day after the game. Tragically, ten years after his role on the pitch, Eddie was found beaten, and passed away in his bed before being discovered by his mom.
