However, after battling Hashimoto’s disease for most of her life, Brooke received heartbreaking news that would change her life in 2012. Brooke used her blog to break the news that she had been diagnosed with thyroid cancer, and spent the next few months blogging about her experiences and how to be aware of the disease. Thankfully, Brooke underwent an operation to remove the cancerous tumor and was given the all-clear in November of the same year. Since then, she has been an avid supporter of thyroid cancer awareness.
