Regarding this particular time in his life, Li talked about what it was like to find out that an active person like himself was getting diagnosed with these illnesses: He said that either he’ll “continue making films,” or he’ll spend the rest of his life in a wheelchair. It’s good to know that he was still able to have a sense of humor about this whole thing, because these illnesses that he was having to deal with made some basic human activities hard to do.
