Here’s what is disturbing about this whole scene: It’s not the fact that the group of Ree’s family and friends only got excited after she brought out the second plate of wings – that is only slightly bothersome. No, what is truly messed up is the fact that Ree only made the first plate of Asian wings, under the sole purpose of making fun of them. She knew that they wouldn’t be well received, but she made a point of making them anyway – but why?
