To these accusations, Ree defended that she actually doesn’t know much about animals: “I did not grow up in country,” she said, before saying that she also “can’t saddle a horse.” But Fitch wasn’t buying these excuses. Fitch maintained that regardless of where you’re from, or how much you know about animals, that doesn’t mean you can turn a blind eye to the way horses are mistreated. In addition to the accusations of Fitch, many other people have cited Ree to be somewhat of a hypocrite.
