After returning back to London, Ryan used Instagram to describe the events in more detail. Within these posts, he made it very clear that he believed racial profiling was to blame for his experience. He believes that the color of his skin and the clothes that he was wearing made him stand out in the airport – something that made the Icelandic officials uncomfortable. He noted that “In Iceland they’re not used to black people” or those with dreadlocks and military boots.
