When the Navy inspected the front of the Sam Ratulangi, they noticed that the Independence wasn’t the first ship to come along and try and haul it away.
There was a second line attached to the ship, indicating at some point in time another tugboat had attempted what the crew of the Independence had been doing, but they too must have cut the line before hauling it to a safe destination. Had the Sam Ratulangi been so troublesome for the original crew who boarded it?
