In 2012, Archuleta signed a contract to shoot a miniseries in the Philippines Nandito Ako. Archuleta, who is Mormon, announced that he would be going on a mission to Chile in 2011 and in 2014, he confirmed that he completed his mission and that he had returned to Utah. Archuleta performed on American Idol in 2016 and he released his 6th album in October of 2017. He kicked off his tour for the album in the Philippines and is set to perform in the United States.
