In 2017, Miller announced that she had to quit the show after running into many legal troubles. They began in 2010 when Miller filed for bankruptcy and allegedly owed more than $400,000 in taxes. In 2014, Miller was sued on alleged assault charges by one of the dancers on Dance Moms. She was indicted for fraud in 2015 after it was discovered that she had allegedly created a secret bank account to hide income. She was sentenced to one year in prison in 2017.
