Marie Osmond was always the odd one out in the Osmond family. As the only girl in the family, she was scrutinized more than any of the men and was always expected to have a smile on her face. However, there was a dark past behind her smile.
In her memoir entitled Behind the Smile, Marie Osmond revealed that she had been the victim of abuse when she was just a child. She wrote that it was “most damaging” to be the victim of that kind of inappropriate behavior. Although she has not revealed the identity of her abuser, she has maintained that they were not members of her family.
