Supporters of Dan wanted to make sure that no one else would be forced to hand over their beloved pet as no one should be faced with that decision. The followers of the story thought that it was ridiculous certain breeds were illegal to own and that all dogs should be allowed to be adopted. The call to change the current law was huge, but one that needed to be answered.
