Because fans were so in love with Angie Watts, the producers of Eastenders offered Anita the chance to reprise her role – but she has consistently turned down this offer.
This is largely because she believes her character got everything she could out of Albert Square, but also because Anita has been hugely busy since the show. She has worked on drama shows such as Call the Midwife and The Worst Witch, and she even appeared on the ninth series of Strictly Come Dancing. As if that wasn’t cool enough, Anita is married to Brian May, the guitarist from Queen.
