After joining the show in episode 40, June Brown continued her reign until 1993, when she decided to leave of her own accord because she was unhappy with how the show was run.
However, it seems as though we couldn’t live without this legend, and fans saw her back on their screens as Dot Cotton in 1997. She has been on the show ever since, although she did take a break in 2012 to write her memoir. Thanks to her work on the show, June has also been awarded the Member of the Order of the British Empire (MBE).
