Kathy Beale was one of the few characters who made their debut in the first ever episode of Eastenders, and Gillian Taylforth had the pleasure of making this character her own.
Although the producers of the show originally thought she was too young to make it big on the show, they soon realized that she had what it took to be a success. Fans fell in love with the attractive and smart woman, and they couldn’t get over the fact that Kathy had morals in a town where morals often fell short.
