Marie was a struggling single mother from a small town in North Carolina. Through all of her challenges, Marie turned to her pastor at her local church. Marie had been a part of the church for her entire life and she developed a close bond with the pastor who ran the congregation, Kevin Matthews. Matthews refers to himself as ‘a warrior of christ’ and he tried to help Marie through all of the obstacles she faced in her life.
