Survivor: The Australian Outback – then and now

[post_page_title]Michael Skupin – then[/post_page_title]

Michael Skupin was part of Kucha tribe and assumed the role of the tribe’s leader since he was the only tribe member that was able to catch fish and kill a pig for meat. Skupin was the first contestant to be evacuated from the show.

He was making a fire and fell asleep on the job only to wake up to dangerous burns all over his hands. The medical team determined his wounds too severe to continue playing and he was therefore eliminated.

Michael David Skupin went to Western Michigan University and became a software publisher before he decided to take a leap into the world of reality television. Micheal founded the Michael Skupin Ministries which helps people fight their addictions. In 2002 Michael thought about running for the United States Senate.

He pulled out from that decision later and instead went in a different direction. Michael wrote a book called Fireproof which talks about his life. It’s probably called Fireproof because he was literally burned on Survivor.
