What’s amazing about Makena’s story is that she didn’t know she had tachycardia for many years before she was diagnosed, and it was only after she found herself in hospital for an unrelated injury that she discovered the news.
From a young age, Makena had always loved volleyball and played on a regular basis with the dream to one day make it into the big leagues. However, she tore her anterior cruciate ligament in 2016, which meant she had to have surgery.
