Since undergoing her life-changing surgery, Makena has gained a new sense of adventure in her life. Through her social media channels, fans are able to follow her daily antics and her weekend explorations.
She may not be able to go back into sport for a while, but she is not going to let her surgery dictate her life. Whenever she has a free moment, she and her boyfriend get in her favorite Jeep – which she has called Meldon – and go on an adventure. She is not letting anything wipe the smile off her face.
