There might not be many worse experiences during school than sitting down, feeling your hand brush up against something under a desk, and realizing that it’s an old wad of gum that someone decided to dispose of like a criminal with no regard for decency. Being compared to that is worse than all the cracks you could make about a person’s appearance.
