Combining her new found love for horror movies, but keeping up with that humor she was always known for, Thiessen starred in spoof Shriek If You Know What I Did Last Friday the Thirteenth. The film was meant to add a comedic side to the popular horror films of the time, such as Scream, Friday The 13th, and I Know What You Did Last Summer. Although the movie was pretty much panned by critics, it didn’t hold her career back at all because, well, nothing really can.

She went on to have the experience of a lifetime, one that many actors only dream of. Two years after starring in the horror spoof, she worked with one of Hollywood’s most acclaimed directors, Woody Allen. Allen’s movie was titled Hollywood Ending, and it told the story of a once great director who goes psychosomatically blind through the pressure of making movies. Though Thiessen’s role was small in the film, she probably jumped at the opportunity.
