Crime drama Boardwalk Empire had a lot of complex characters, and few of them were more complex than Jimmy, the son of former Atlantic City crime boss Commodore Louis Kaestner and protégé of new head honcho Enoch “Nucky” Thompson.
Eventually Jimmy runs afoul of him, however, forcing Nucky to get rid of him. Pitt’s exit from the show was driven not only by the script, but also by the actor’s conduct, as he kept arriving late and forgetting his lines, costing the production money. He was even dropped by his agent because he was so difficult.
