Sheridan played vixen real estate agent Edie Britt, one of the drama’s most memorable and beloved characters. Behind the scenes, however, not everything was idyllic, and she reportedly did not get along with show creator Marc Cherry, and was rude to the show’s cast and crew.
In what was described as a “creative and economic decision,” Britt died in the series’ 5th season via electrocution – the only core cast member to suffer such a fate. Irate, Sheridan sued Cherry and the network for wrongful dismissal, and claimed he’d assaulted her. She lost.
