Whispered rumors about how difficult Doherty was to work with dated back to the early 1990s and her breakout role on Beverly Hills 90210. Things, however, seemed to have reached a new low with supernatural drama Charmed.
Playing the eldest of the Halliwell sisters for three seasons, she constantly clashed with her on-screen baby sister Phoebe, played by Alyssa Milano. Both actresses have since gone on record to admit the dispute. “There were definitely some rough days,” Milano recounted, saying Doherty and the third sister – played by Holly Marie Combs – were best friends for ten years prior to appearing on the show, making it like “high school.” Doherty, for her part, said that she’ll miss… just Combs.
