First appearing on The Cosby Show, Bonet played Denise, the family’s second child and free spirit, whose wild antics made her a crowd favorite.
She’s also a double whammy, because her strained relationship with Bill Cosby initially led her to be written off The Cosby Show to attend college, and she was given a spin-off – A Different World – about her exploits there. She then married musician Lenny Kravitz and became pregnant shortly thereafter, prompting her to be written off that show as well as Cosby didn’t want the show to explore unplanned teen pregnancy.
