This is a classic case of “she said, they said,” which ended in one character’s hilarious, ignoble exit from the hit show. Roswell voiced Maude Flanders, the prim and proper wife of the Simpsons’ neighbor Ned.
Roswell lived in Denver, and when it came time to renegotiate her contract, she asked the network for more money due to rising airline ticket prices. Fox refused, and she left the show, which led to Maude being hit with a T-shirt gun during a NASCAR race and plummeting to her demise.
