Cousin Oliver was added to the iconic comedy during the latter half of its fifth and final season. The Brady children were all twelve or older, and in an attempt to restore some youth to the cast, Rist was added as the wisecracking 9-year-old cousin.
It didn’t work, as he was more annoying than precocious, and completely sent the show’s balance out of whack. While he wasn’t killed off, the show was – it was canceled after the season concluded.
