The Dillon Panther’s offensive coordinator Mac McGill, is played by Blue Deckert. There is initially a lot of tension between Mac and Eric, since he had assumed the head coaching position was his before Eric was hired. Mac suffers from a heart attack in the third season, causing him to take a leave of absence. Once he is back in good health, Eric offers him a job at East Dillon, but Mac turns him down. By season five, Mac becomes the head coach of the Dillon Panthers.
