Now that his football days are behind him, Taylor Kitsch has moved on to a variety of roles. A year after the show’s end, he starred as John Carter in the Disney sci-fi adventure film John Carter. Shortly after, he got cast as lead Chon alongside Blake Lively in the 2012 crime-thriller Savages. In 2015, he had a recurring role on the HBO crime-drama True Detective, and is currently playing the starring role David Koresh in the TV mini-series thriller titled Waco.
